An heir­ess to the Cad­bury choc­o­late for­tune, Al­ex­and­er at­tend­ed un­i­ver­si­ty and stu­died mu­sic and lan­guage in Ger­ma­ny. In Ju­ly 1904, she mar­ried Charles M.
