Born: Ap­ril 1749. The lo­ca­tion is var­i­ous­ly re­port­ed as High Wy­combe, Buck­ing­ham­shire, or Guild­ford, Sur­rey, Eng­land.

Died: Oc­to­ber 30, 1810, Lon­don, Eng­land.

Buried: Orig­in­al­ly at White­field’s Ta­ber­na­cle, but the me­mor­i­al and the grave were lat­er moved (pos­si­bly to Ching­ford Mount Cem­e­te­ry).

Burnham was for ma­ny years pas­tor of a Bap­tist church in Lon­don, first in Lit­tle Cha­pel Street, then in Graf­ton Street, So­ho. He is said to have been an ex­cel­lent preach­er. He wrote some 452 hymns in his life­time. His works in­clude:
