Died: Ap­ril 30, 1867, Eliz­a­beth, New Jer­sey.

Conkey played the or­gan for a while at the Cen­tral Bap­tist Church in Nor­wich, Con­nec­ti­cut. In 1850, he moved to New York Ci­ty and sang as a bass so­lo­ist in choirs at Cal­va­ry Epis­co­pal Church and Grace Church. Be­gin­ning in 1861, he was the bass so­lo­ist and quar­ter choir di­rect­or at the Mad­i­son Av­e­nue Bap­tist Church, where he served un­til his death.
