Jane was the daugh­ter of Rev. John Boak, and mo­ther of Rev. Hen­ry Cot­ter­ill, Bi­shop of Ed­in­burgh, Scot­land. She mar­ried Rev. Jo­seph Cot­ter­ill in 1811.
