Eyre stu­died at the Roy­al Acad­e­my of Mu­sic and served as o­rgan­ist at at St. Pe­ter’s, Vaux­hall (1867-1872 and 1874-1881); St. Eth­el­berg­a’s, Bi­shop­gate, (1872-1874); St. John the Evan­gel­ist, Up­per Nor­wood, 1881; and at the Crys­tal Pal­ace (1880-1894).
