Hemy played the or­gan at St. An­drew’s Ro­man Ca­tho­lic Church in New­cas­tle, and lat­er taught mu­sic at Tyne­mouth and at St. Cuth­bert’s Coll­ege, Ushaw, Dur­ham. His works in­clude:
