In 1666, Hintze was court mu­si­cian to the Elect­or of Bran­den­burg. He ed­it­ed Prax­is Pi­e­ta­tis Mel­i­ca af­ter the death of Crü­ger, ad­ding an ap­pen­dix of new mel­o­dies.
