Kroeger su­per­vised the mu­sic at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Lou­is, and as a re­sult of his ef­forts there was elect­ed an Of­fi­cer of the French Acad­e­my. He al­so be­longed to the Na­tion­al In­sti­tute of Arts of Let­ters, and was a char­ter mem­ber of the Amer­i­can Guild of Or­gan­ists. He ran the Kroe­ger School of Mu­sic in St. Louis (1904-1934) and di­rect­ed the mu­sic de­part­ment at Wash­ing­ton Un­i­ver­si­ty in St. Louis (1925-1934).
