Died: May 22, 1690, Frankfurt am Main, Ger­ma­ny.

After stu­dying at Tübingen (where he be­came a licentiate in civil and canon law), Schütz began to practice law in Frankfurt, and in later years with the title of Rath. He seems to have been a man of considerable legal learning and piety. He left the Lu­ther­an church sometime af­ter 1685. His works in­clude:

• Christliches Gedenckbüchlein, zu Beförderung eines anfangenden neuen Lebens (Frankfurt am Main, Ger­ma­ny: 1675)
• Christliche Lebensregeln (Frankfurt am Main, Ger­ma­ny: 1677)
