Turle was a chor­ist­er at Wells Ca­thed­ral (1811-13), and was ar­ti­cled to J. J. Goss (un­cle to John Goss). He played the or­gan at Christ Church, Black­fri­ars (1819-29); St. James, Ber­mond­sey (1829-31); and was as­sist­ant at West­min­ster Ab­bey, serv­ing as or­gan­ist and mas­ter of the chor­ist­ers (1831-75).
