Weatherly attended Hereford Cathedral School and Brasenose College at Oxford. A judge, poet, and lawyer, Weatherly is perhaps best remembered as the author of secular lyrics such as “Danny Boy,” “Roses of Picardy,” and “Up From Somerset.”
