Born: 1766, Fen­wick (near Kil­mar­nock), Ayr­shire, Scot­land (bap­tized De­cem­ber 2, 1766).

Died: Au­gust 14, 1824, Dun­toch­er, Scot­land.

Wilson taught math­e­ma­tics and mu­sic, led the lo­cal choir, and made sun di­als. In 1800, he moved to the town of Pol­lok­shaws, and later to Dun­toch­er.
