Son of a rector, Rosenius was never ordained, but was an influential Lutheran preacher. He edited The Pietist (1842-1862), and made extensive contributions thereto. His wife was Agata Rosenius. Oscar Ahnfelt had a large role in popularizing Carl’s hymns.
