Sarah’s hus­band was Er­ick John Find­la­ter, Free Church of Scot­land pas­tor at Lochernhead, Perthshire, Scot­land. In 1855, Sarah and her sister Jane Laurie Borthwick co-produced a book of trans­la­tions of German hymns titled Hymns from the Land of Luther.
